164.735 Authority to contract with private owner. The department may enter into contracts or cooperative agreements with private <br>landowners relating to the preservation and proper exploration of any archaeological site <br>or object of antiquity situated on such private land. The department may acquire, with any <br>funds available to it for such purpose, title to any real estate upon which is located an <br>archaeological site or object of antiquity which the department determines it is important <br>to be preserved.
