164.4781 Interpreter training program. There shall be an interpreter training program at one (1) or more public institutions of <br>higher education to ensure that qualified interpreters are available to meet the needs of <br>deaf and hard of hearing students attending the institutions of higher education and deaf <br>and hard of hearing consumers throughout the Commonwealth. The program shall lead to <br>a minimum of an associate degree in interpreting. The program shall be exempt from the <br>normal student load requirements for a period of ten (10) years from its implementation <br>or until it can be clearly demonstrated that an adequate supply of interpreters is available <br>in all parts of the state, whichever is later.
