41-1505.04. Cooperative advertising program; coordinator; eligibility; powers and duties

A. A state cooperative advertising program is established in the department to provide monies for the marketing of cities and towns in this state to new business and industry. The director shall appoint a coordinator to administer the program.

B. Under the direction of the director, the coordinator shall:

1. Determine the eligibility of organizations making application for funding. Eligible organizations shall include local and regional incorporated economic development organizations which have established job creation as their primary goal. Economic development entities which do not otherwise fit this description but which can demonstrate a continuing advertising program shall also be considered.

2. Review the strategies of applicant organizations for the effective disposition of promotional inquiries.

3. Assist local economic development organizations in the development of promotional materials and techniques.

4. Monitor the progress of cooperative funded organizations and other aspects of the program.

5. Perform other duties necessary to administer the state cooperative advertising program successfully.
