Section 32-5-8School bus specifications and operation. The State Board of Education shall adopt minimum standards, not inconsistent with this chapter, to govern the specifications of all new school buses purchased in the future and for the overall operation of all school buses used for the transportation of school children when owned and operated by any school system or privately owned and operated under contract with any school system.
