TEXAS COURT OF APPEALS, THIRD DISTRICT, AT AUSTIN NO. 03-17-00540-CV J. H., Appellant v. Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Appellee FROM THE DISTRICT COURT OF COMAL COUNTY, 22ND JUDICIAL DISTRICT NO. C2016-1206A, HONORABLE MELISSA MCCLENAHAN, JUDGE PRESIDING MEMORANDUM OPINION Appellant J.H.’s notice of appeal was filed in this Court on August 11, 2017. On September 1, we notified appellant that after initial review it appeared that his notice of appeal was mistakenly filed in this Court because a letter from the District Clerk of Comal County informed us that the document was actually a “Request for De Novo Hearing” and was filed in this Court in error. See Tex. R. App. P. 27. In our letter to appellant, we asked him to respond no later than September 11, and to explain whether this Court has jurisdiction over the appeal. To date, we have not received any response from appellant. Accordingly, we dismiss the case for want of jurisdiction. See id. R. 42.3(a). __________________________________________ David Puryear, Justice Before Justices Puryear, Field, and Bourland Dismissed for Want of Jurisdiction Filed: September 15, 2017 2
