In the Court of Appeals Second Appellate District of Texas at Fort Worth ___________________________ No. 02-18-00353-CR ___________________________ KERRY JONES, Appellant V. THE STATE OF TEXAS On Appeal from the 362nd District Court Denton County, Texas Trial Court No. F-2013-0580-D Before Birdwell, J.; Sudderth, C.J.; and Walker, J. Per Curiam MEMORANDUM OPINION1 Kerry Jones filed a notice of appeal from the trial court’s interlocutory order denying his motion to quash the indictment. Although his counsel filed a response to our letter questioning our jurisdiction to consider this interlocutory appeal, that response does not show that this court has jurisdiction to hear the appeal. Accordingly, we dismiss the appeal for want of jurisdiction. See Ex parte Alvear, 524 S.W.3d 261, 263 (Tex. App.––Waco 2016, no pet.) (noting that the law does not authorize an interlocutory appeal of an order denying a motion to quash); Ahmad v. State, 158 S.W.3d 525, 526–27 (Tex. App.––Fort Worth 2004, pet. ref’d) (dismissing appeal from order denying motion to set aside indictment, citing general rule that appeal lies from interlocutory orders only if expressly granted by law).
