Thomas seeks to appeal a judgment convicting him of aggravated kidnapping. The trial court imposed Thomas’s sentence on January 28, 2015. No motion for new trial was filed, so Thomas’s notice of appeal was due February 27, 2015, but was not filed until December 21, 2017. See Tex. R. App. P. 26.2(a)(1). 1 See Tex. R. App. P. 47.4. On January 26, 2018, we notified Thomas of our concern that we lack jurisdiction over this appeal, and we informed him that the appeal may be dismissed for want of jurisdiction unless he filed a response by February 5, 2018, showing grounds for continuing the appeal.
