Appeal Dismissed and Memorandum Opinion filed May 3, 2018. In The Fourteenth Court of Appeals NO. 14-17-00771-CV IN RE COMMITMENT OF JOHN ARTHUR GRAVES On Appeal from the 435th District court Montgomery County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. 12-05-05201-CV MEMORANDUM OPINION This is an appeal from an order signed August 11, 2017. The clerk’s record was filed October 10, 2017. On October 18, 2018, the court reporter informed this court that no record was taken. On March 9, 2018, this Court received by mail a document signed by appellant entitled “Petition for Review.” Appellant’s opening brief was due March 2, 2018. We construed the “Petition for Review” as a good faith effort by appellant to file a brief. However, the “Petition for Review” did not comply with briefing requirements set forth in the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure. In particular, the brief failed generally to comply with the rules. See Tex. R. App. P. 38.1(a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (g), (h), (i), and (k). On March 22, 2018, we ordered appellant’s “Petition for Review” received on March 9, 2018 stricken. The order further stated that unless appellant filed a brief on or before April 11, 2018, the court would dismiss the appeal for want of prosecution. See Tex. R. App. P. 38.8(a); 42.3(b). Appellant filed no brief or other response. Accordingly, the appeal is dismissed. PER CURIAM Panel consists of Justices Busby, Brown, and Jewell. 2
