Petition for Writ of Mandamus Denied and Opinion filed June 27, 2016. In The Fourteenth Court of Appeals NO. 14-17-00470-CV IN RE JOHN LEONARD, Relator ORIGINAL PROCEEDING WRIT OF MANDAMUS 189th District Court Harris County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. 2015-23987 MEMORANDUM OPINION On June 15, 2017, relator John Leonard filed a petition for writ of mandamus in this court. See Tex. Gov’t Code Ann. § 22.221 (West 2004); see also Tex. R. App. P. 52. In the petition, relator asks this court to compel the Honorable William R. Burke Jr., presiding judge of the 189thst District Court of Harris County, to vacate his Order, signed on June 2, 2017, compelling relator to respond to certain discovery requests. Relator has also filed a motion for emergency temporary relief, asking that we stay this Order pending a decision on his petition for writ of mandamus. To obtain mandamus relief, a relator must show that the trial court clearly abused its discretion. In re Prudential Ins. Co. of Am., 148 S.W.3d 124, 135–36 (Tex. 2004) (orig. proceeding). Relator has not established that the trial court clearly abused its discretion. We therefore deny relator’s petition for writ of mandamus and relator’s motion for emergency temporary relief. PER CURIAM Panel consists of Justices Christopher, Brown, and Wise. 2
