Dismissed and Opinion Filed September 9, 2020 In The Court of Appeals Fifth District of Texas at Dallas No. 05-20-00608-CV IN THE INTEREST OF H.J.S., A CHILD On Appeal from the 303rd Judicial District Court Dallas County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. DF-16-25137 MEMORANDUM OPINION Before Justices Schenck, Osborne, and Partida-Kipness Opinion by Justice Partida-Kipness Appellant appeals from the trial court’s February 10, 2020 order in a suit to modify the parent-child relationship. Because appellant filed a timely request for findings of fact and conclusions of law, the notice of appeal was due no later than May 11, 2020 or, with an extension motion, May 26, 2020. See TEX. R. APP. P. 4.1(a); 26.1(a); 26.3. The notice of appeal, however, was not filed until June 12, 2020. At our request, appellant filed a jurisdictional letter brief. See Brashear v. Victoria Gardens of McKinney, 302 S.W.3d 542, 545 (Tex. App.—Dallas 2009, no pet.) (op. on reh’g) (timely filing of notice of appeal is jurisdictional). However, nothing in his brief demonstrates our jurisdiction over this appeal. Accordingly, we dismiss this appeal for want of jurisdiction. See TEX. R. APP. P. 42.3(a); Brashear, 302 S.W.3d at 545. /Robbie Partida-Kipness/ ROBBIE PARTIDA-KIPNESS JUSTICE 200608F.P05 –2– Court of Appeals Fifth District of Texas at Dallas JUDGMENT IN THE INTEREST OF H.J.S., A CHILD On Appeal from the 303rd Judicial District Court, Dallas County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. DF-16-25137.
