Dismissed and Opinion Filed January 11, 2017 S In The Court of Appeals Fifth District of Texas at Dallas No. 05-17-00007-CV IN RE NAZARIO CHAVEZ, JR., Relator Original Proceeding from the Justice Court Precinct 1 Place 1 Dallas County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. JT-15M8400H MEMORANDUM OPINION Before Justices Bridges, Fillmore, and Schenck Opinion by Justice Bridges Before the Court is relator Nazario Chavez, Jr.’s January 3, 2017 “motion for sanctions.” There is no appeal pending for which this motion relates and, therefore, we treat this document as a petition for writ of mandamus. This Court’s mandamus jurisdiction is governed by Texas Government Code Section 22.221, which expressly limits the mandamus jurisdiction of the courts of appeals to: (1) writs necessary to enforce the jurisdiction of the court of appeals; and (2) writs against specified district or county court judges in the court of appeals district. TEX. GOV’T CODE ANN. §§ 22.221(a), (b) (West 2004). Relator’s petition does not allege any action that constitutes interference with this Court’s appellate jurisdiction, and relator does not seek a writ against a district or county court judge. Accordingly, we dismiss the petition for want of jurisdiction. /David L. Bridges/ DAVID L. BRIDGES JUSTICE 170007F.P05 –2–
