LAWRENCE MITCHELL III, Appellant
V.
LAQUINTA VANCE, Appellee
.............................................................
On Appeal from the County Court at Law No. 4
Dallas County, Texas
Trial Court Cause No. 08-07020-D

MEMORANDUM OPINION
Before Justices Bridges, Richter, and Mazzant
Appellant Lawrence Mitchell III filed an appeal in the county court from “the Judgment denying the Pauper's Affidavit of Inability to Pay Costs entered in this action August 7, 2008 in the Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 4, Place 1, Dallas County, Texas.”
An appeal may be taken only from a final judgment, unless a statute specifically authorizes an interlocutory appeal. See Tex. Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code Ann. § 51.012, 51.014(a) (Vernon 1997 & Supp. 2007); Lehmann v. Har-Con Corp., 39 S.W.3d 191, 195 (Tex. 2001). By letter dated November 7, 2008, we notified appellant we have concerns regarding the Court's jurisdiction over this appeal, because there is no appealable final judgment from the county court. The Court directed appellant to file a letter brief regarding the jurisdictional question by November 17, 2008, and advised appellant that after the expiration of the deadline for appellant's jurisdictional brief and any response by appellee, the Court would either dismiss for want of jurisdiction or notify the parties the Court has jurisdiction over this appeal. See Tex. R. App. P. 42.3(a).
To date appellant has not filed a jurisdictional brief or otherwise communicated with the Court.
We conclude there is no appealable final judgment from the county court. Accordingly this Court does not have jurisdiction over this appeal. The appeal is dismissed for lack of jurisdiction. See Tex. R. App. P. 42.3(a), 43.2(f).
