STATE OF MICHIGAN COURT OF APPEALS MATTHEW C. PYSCHER, UNPUBLISHED September 13, 2011 Petitioner-Appellee, v No. 300723 Bay Circuit Court LC No. 10-003702-PH JEAN P. BARBER, Respondent-Appellant. Before: SAWYER, P.J., and DONOFRIO and RONAYNE KRAUSE, JJ. MEMORANDUM. Respondent appeals as of right from the trial court s order denying her motion to terminate a personal protection order (PPO). We dismiss this appeal as moot. An issue is deemed moot when an event occurs that renders it impossible for a reviewing court to grant relief. B P 7 v Bureau of State Lottery, 231 Mich App 356, 359; 586 NW2d 117 (1998). While this case was pending on appeal, the PPO at issue expired by its express terms on May 1, 2011. Respondent has not identified any collateral consequences from the continued existence of the expired PPO. See, e.g., Hayford v Hayford, 279 Mich App 324, 325; 760 NW2d 503 (2008). Dismissed. /s/ David H. Sawyer /s/ Pat M. Donofrio /s/ Amy Ronayne Krause -1-
