In the Matter of KRISTOPHER HADER, Minor.
FAMILY INDEPENDENCE AGENCY,
UNPUBLISHED
June 12, 1998
Petitioner-Appellee,
v
No. 204888
Sanilac Juvenile Court
LC No. 95-032515 NA
KENNETH E. HADER,
Respondent-Appellant,
and
DONNA JEAN ALVORD,
Respondent.
Before: Wahls, P.J., and Jansen and Gage, JJ.
MEMORANDUM.
Respondent-appellant appeals as of right from a juvenile court order terminating his parental rights to the
minor child under MCL 712A.19b(3)(c)(i), (g) and (j); MSA 27.3178 (598.19b)(3)(c)(i), (g) and (j). We affirm. This case
is being decided without oral argument pursuant to MCR 7.214(E).
The juvenile court did not clearly err in terminating respondent-appellant’s parental rights. MCR 5.974(I); In
re Hall-Smith, 222 Mich App 470, 472; 564 NW2d 156 (1997). The statutory grounds for termination were established
by clear and convincing evidence and respondent-appellant failed to show that termination of his parental rights was
clearly not in the child’s best interests. Id.; MCL 712A.19b(5); MSA 27.3178(598.19b)(5). Further, the juvenile court
did not abuse its discretion in denying respondent-appellant’s request for substitute counsel. In re Conley, 216
Mich App 41, 45; 549 NW2d 353 (1996).
Affirmed.
