STATE OF MICHIGAN COURT OF APPEALS JEFFREY R. BURNETT, UNPUBLISHED August 2, 1996 Plaintiff-Appellant, v No. 176363 LC No. 93-014685-CM LAKE SUPERIOR STATE UNIVERSITY and LAKE SUPERIOR STATE UNIVERSITY BOARD OF REGENTS, Defendants-Appellees. Before: Sawyer, P.J., and Bandstra and M.J. Talbot,* JJ. MEMORANDUM. Plaintiff appeals as of right from the trial court order that dismissed his complaint for failure to comply with an order to file a more definite statement. We affirm. Plaintiff has abandoned appellate review of the dismissal of his complaint by failing to discuss it in his brief. Froling v Carpenter, 203 Mich App 368, 373; 512 NW2d 6 (1994). A trial court may properly dismiss any action in which a plaintiff fails to comply with its orders, including an order to amend the pleadings to make them more specific. MCR 2.504(B)(1); Banaszewski v Colman, 131 Mich App 92, 94; 345 NW2d 647 (1983). The trial court did not abuse its discretion by dismissing plaintiff’s suit. The issues raised by plaintiff on appeal involve the merits of his complaint. None of these were addressed by the trial court and they are therefore not properly before this Court. Schubiner v New England Ins Co, 207 Mich App 330, 331; 523 NW2d 635 (1994). We affirm. * Circuit judge, sitting on the Court of Appeals by assignment. -1 /s/ David H. Sawyer /s/ Richard A. Bandstra /s/ Michael J. Talbot -2
