STATE OF LOUISIANA * NO. 2017-KA-0469 VERSUS * COURT OF APPEAL SAMUEL J. BARKER, JR * FOURTH CIRCUIT * STATE OF LOUISIANA * * ******* LOMBARD, J., CONCURS IN RESULT, With regard to the assignments of error properly before us in the appeal, I concur in the affirmation of the defendant’s conviction and sentence. However, as observed by the majority, ineffective assistance of counsel claims are more properly raised in an application for post-conviction relief and that in the instant case the defendant’s claims are “not ripe for full analysis on appeal.” Thus, I do not join the majority in its discussion (and/or inferences therein) regarding the defendant’s ineffective assistance claim.
