IN THE COURT OF APPEALS OF IOWA No. 8-784 / 08-0256 Filed October 15, 2008 Upon the Petition of DAVID R. NEIERS, Petitioner-Appellee/Cross-Appellant, And Concerning JULIA A. KLAREN, Respondent-Appellant/Cross-Appellee. ________________________________________________________________ Appeal from the Iowa District Court for Linn County, Douglas S. Russell, Judge. Mother appeals and father cross-appeals from a district court ruling establishing child custody and visitation. AFFIRMED. Stephen B. Jackson Jr., Cedar Rapids, for appellant. Jean C. Lawrence, Marion, for appellee. Considered by Mahan, P.J., and Vaitheswaran and Doyle, JJ. 2 MAHAN, P.J. David Neiers and Julia Klaren are the parents of a son born in June 2006. David initiated this proceeding to establish custody, support, and visitation rights between the parents. Following a hearing, the district court determined that both parents love and care for their child and want what is best for him. The court expressed concern for the parents’ lack of trust in each other. The court granted joint legal custody and awarded primary physical care to Julia. David was awarded liberal visitation. Julia appeals and David cross-appeals. Julia contends visitation should be more limited. David contends the court should have awarded joint physical care. After a thorough review and consideration of the record, we agree with the district court ruling and, therefore, affirm. AFFIRMED.
