Ballard v. Georgia
Annotate this CaseOn February 13, 2013, Singlee Soun and Chaz Ballard were each indicted for four counts of felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and four counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony all in relation to the shooting death of James Johnson. Following a joint jury trial, both were found guilty. In consolidated appeals, Ballard argued, among other things, that the evidence presented at trial was insufficient to support his verdict and that his trial counsel was ineffective (Case No. S15A40463). Soun argued, among other things, that the trial court erred in its jury instructions (Case No. S15A0464). Finding no reversible error in either case, the Supreme Court affirmed.
