United States v. Villafranca, No. 16-40022 (5th Cir. 2016)Annotate this Case
Defendant was convicted of conspiring to transport and transporting undocumented aliens within the United States for financial gain. On appeal, defendant challenged his 57-month sentence. The court affirmed the district court's imposition of a two-level upward adjustment under USSG 3B1.3, and concluded that the district court did not clearly err in determining that defendant's special skill of driving a tractor trailer truck significantly facilitated the commission of the offenses.
