60.2-228. American vessel and American aircraft.

The term "American vessel" means any vessel documented or numbered underthe laws of the United States, and includes any vessel which is neitherdocumented or numbered under the laws of the United States nor documentedunder the laws of any foreign country, if its crew is employed solely by oneor more citizens or residents of the United States or corporations organizedunder the laws of the United States or of any state. The term "Americanaircraft" means an aircraft registered under the laws of the United States.
