54.1-3426. Regulations for special packaging.

A. The Board shall adopt standards for special packaging consistent withthose promulgated pursuant to the federal Poison Prevention Packaging Act of1970 (15 U.S.C. 1471 et seq.). The Board may exempt any drug from therequirements of special packaging and shall exempt any drug exempted pursuantto the Poison Prevention Packaging Act of 1970.

B. A prescriber or a purchaser may direct that a drug, which is subject tobeing dispensed in special packaging, be dispensed in other than specialpackaging.
