54.1-2924. Psychiatric Advisory Board.

The Psychiatric Advisory Board shall be composed of licensed practitionersappointed by the Board of Medicine and shall examine persons licensed orseeking licensure under this chapter and advise the Board of Medicineconcerning the mental or emotional condition of such person when suchcondition is in issue before the Board of Medicine. The recommendations ofthe Psychiatric Advisory Board shall not be binding upon the Board ofMedicine. Practitioners shall have immunity from civil liability resultingfrom any communication, finding, opinion or conclusion made in the course oftheir duties as members of the Psychiatric Advisory Board unless they actedin bad faith or with malicious intent.
