51.5-9. Department designated as state agency for purpose of cooperationwith federal government.

The Department is designated, subject to the provisions of 51.5-77 and51.5-66 regarding the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired, as thestate agency for the purpose of cooperating with the federal government incarrying out the provisions and purposes of the federal Rehabilitation Actand is empowered and directed to cooperate with the federal government in theadministration of such act, to prescribe and provide services as may benecessary for the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, to provide forthe supervision of such services, and to disburse and administer federalfunds provided for the rehabilitation of such persons.
