46.2-1023. Flashing red or red and white warning lights.

Fire apparatus, forest warden vehicles, ambulances, rescue and life-savingvehicles, vehicles of the Department of Emergency Management, vehicles of theDepartment of Environmental Quality, vehicles of county, city, or townDepartments of Emergency Management, vehicles of the Office of EmergencyMedical Services, animal warden vehicles, and vehicles used by securitypersonnel of the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company,Bassett-Walker, Inc., Tultex Corporation, the Winchester Medical Center, theNational Aeronautics and Space Administration's Wallops Flight Facility, and,within those areas specified in their orders of appointment, by specialconservators of the peace and policemen for certain places appointed pursuantto 19.2-13 and 19.2-17 may be equipped with flashing, blinking, oralternating red or red and white combination warning lights of types approvedby the Superintendent.
