40.1-122. Approval of agreement by Council; signing.

No apprentice agreement under this chapter shall be effective until approvedby the Council. Every apprentice agreement shall be signed by the employer,or by an association of employers or an organization of employees as providedin 40.1-124, and by the apprentice, and, if the apprentice is a minor, bythe minor's father or mother, provided, that if both father and mother bedead or legally incapable of giving consent or have abandoned their children,then by the guardian of the minor.
