32.1-126.2. Fire suppression systems required in nursing facilities andnursing homes.

After January 1, 1993, the Commissioner shall not issue a license to or renewthe license of any nursing facility or nursing home, regardless of when suchinstitution was constructed, unless the nursing facility or nursing home isequipped with a fire suppression system which complies with the regulationsof the Board of Housing and Community Development.

Units consisting of certified long-term care beds described in this sectionand 36-99.9 located on the ground floor of general hospitals shall beexempt from the requirements of this section.
