18.2-498.3. Misrepresentations prohibited.

Any person, in any commercial dealing in any matter within the jurisdictionof any department or agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, or any localgovernment within the Commonwealth or any department or agency thereof, whoknowingly falsifies, conceals, misleads, or covers up by any trick, scheme,or device a material fact, or makes any false, fictitious or fraudulentstatements or representations, or makes or uses any false writing or documentknowing the same to contain any false, fictitious or fraudulent statement orentry, shall be guilty of a Class 6 felony.
