15.2-2307.1. Protection of established commercial fishing operations.

Registered commercial fishermen and seafood buyers who operate theirbusinesses from their waterfront residences shall not be prohibited by alocality from continuing their businesses, notwithstanding the provisions ofany local zoning ordinance. This section shall only apply to businesses thathave been in operation by the current owner, or a family member of thecurrent owner, for at least 20 years at the location in question. Theprotection granted by this section shall continue so long as the property isowned by the current owner or a family member of the owner.
