15.2-2264. Statement of consent to subdivision; execution; acknowledgmentand recordation; notice to commissioner of the revenue or board of realestate assessors.

Every plat, or deed of dedication to which the plat is attached, shallcontain in addition to the professional engineer's or land surveyor'scertificate a statement as follows: "The platting or dedication of thefollowing described land (here insert a correct description of the landsubdivided) is with the free consent and in accordance with the desire of theundersigned owners, proprietors, and trustees, if any." The statement shallbe signed and duly acknowledged before an officer authorized to takeacknowledgment of deeds. When thus executed and acknowledged, the plat,subject to the provisions herein, shall be filed and recorded in the officeof the clerk of the circuit court for the lands contained in the plat, andindexed in the general index to deeds under the names of the owners of landssigning the statement, and under the name of the subdivision. Owners shallnotify the appropriate commissioner of the revenue of improvements to realproperty situated in platted subdivisions.
