15.2-2218. County planning commission serving as commission of town.

The governing body of any town may designate, with the consent of thegoverning body of a contiguous county, by ordinance, the county planningcommission as the local planning commission of the town.

A county commission designated as a town commission shall have all the powersand duties granted under this chapter to a local planning commission.

Any town designating a county commission as its local planning commission maycontract annually to pay the county a proportionate part of the expensesproperly chargeable for the planning service rendered the town, and any suchpayments may be appropriated to the county planning commission in addition toany funds budgeted for planning purposes.
