10.1-539. Surveys and dissemination of information.

Districts are authorized to (i) conduct surveys, investigations, and researchrelating to soil erosion and floodwater and sediment damages, and toagricultural and nonagricultural phases of the conservation, development,utilization, and disposal of water, and the preventive and control measuresand works of improvement needed; (ii) publish the results of such surveys,investigations, or research; and (iii) disseminate information concerningpreventive and control measures and works of improvement. However, in orderto avoid duplication of research activities, no district shall initiate anyresearch program except in cooperation with the government of theCommonwealth or the United States.
