§ 1611. Court may order personalty sold

On the motion of the executor or administrator, the probate division of the superior court may order the personal estate, or part of it, to be sold when it appears necessary for the purpose of paying debts, legacies or expenses of administration or for the preservation of the property. (Amended 1985, No. 144 (Adj. Sess.), § 74; 2009, No. 154 (Adj. Sess.), § 238a, eff. Feb. 1, 2011.)
