Act 15 - CITY OF JOHNSTOWN FIREFIGHTERS MEMORIAL BRIDGE - DESIGNATION
An Act
Designating a bridge, identified as Bridge Key 8680, carrying State Route 3055 over Stonycreek River in the City of Johnstown, Cambria County, as the City of Johnstown Firefighters Memorial Bridge.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. City of Johnstown Firefighters Memorial Bridge.
(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as follows:
(1) The men and women who served as firefighters dedicated their lives and careers to help others in times of need, and those who gave their lives deserve recognition.
(2) The following Johnstown firefighters bravely gave their lives:
(i) Jacob Graff, October 28, 1926.
(ii) Joseph Costanzo, October 1, 1951.
(iii) Thomas Potter, March 14, 1952.
(iv) John Brindle, January 8, 1954.
(v) Robert Urbasik, May 17, 1958.
(vi) Richard Roberts, February 15, 1989.
(vii) John Slezak, March 18, 1989.
(3) The bridge shall also commemorate any future fallen firefighters from the City of Johnstown's Fire Department who dedicated their lives and careers to help others in times of need.
(b) Designation.--The bridge, identified as Bridge Key 8680, carrying State Route 3055 over Stonycreek River in the City of Johnstown, Cambria County, is designated as the City of Johnstown Firefighters Memorial Bridge.
(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to traffic in both directions on the bridge.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act shall take effect in 60 days.
