Nothing in the public health laws shall be construed to empower or authorize the Oregon Health Authority or its representatives, or any county or district board of health or its representatives to interfere in any manner with the individual's right to select the physician or mode of treatment of the choice of the individual, nor interfere with the practice of any person whose religion treats or administers to people who are sick or suffering by purely spiritual means. However, sanitary laws and rules must be complied with. [Amended by 1977 c.582 §15; 2007 c.70 §238; 2009 c.595 §541]
