Section 59.235 - General supervision over persons dealing in securities.

Subject to section 18 of the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, section 15 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, and sections 203A and 222 of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, as amended, the Director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services shall have general supervision and control over all issuers, registrants of securities, broker-dealers, federal covered investment advisers, state investment advisers, investment adviser representatives and salespersons residing or doing business in this state and engaged in any activity with respect to securities or any aspect of the securities business. All such persons and their records and everything connected with their activities shall be subject to examination by the director at any time. The provisions of this section and of any section of the Oregon Securities Law relating to examinations shall extend to any person who should have been licensed as a broker-dealer, state investment adviser, investment adviser representative or salesperson, any person exempted by rule from those definitions or any person whose license has expired or has been withdrawn, canceled, suspended or revoked.
