Title 63. Public Health and Safety
§63-1-233.1. Short title - Ava's Law – Information to be provided to pregnant individuals.

A. This section shall be known and may be cited as "Ava's Law".

B. All persons licensed to practice medicine and surgery in this state, or who are Advanced Practice Registered Nurses including but not limited to Certified Nurse-Midwives, and who provide prenatal, delivery, infant care services, and other child or adult health services related to maternal and infant care shall provide to individuals who report to such person that they are pregnant the information provided by the State Department of Health under subsection C of this section.

C. The State Department of Health shall compile and make available on its Internet website educational resources on:

1. Infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic first aid including contact information for training programs; and

2. Cord blood banking and donation.
