Chapter 1A - Judicial Retirement
NRS 1A.140 - Person convicted of murder or voluntary manslaughter of member of System ineligible to receive benefits. [Effective through December 31, 2014, and after that date unless the provisions of Senate Joint Resolution No. 14 (2011) are approved and ratified by the voters at the 2014 General Election.]

Any person convicted of the murder or voluntary manslaughter of a member of the System is ineligible to receive any benefit conferred by any provision of this chapter or NRS 2.060 to 2.083, inclusive, or 3.090 to 3.099, inclusive, by reason of the death of that member. The System may withhold the payment of any benefit otherwise payable under this chapter by reason of the death of any member of the System from any person charged with the murder or voluntary manslaughter of that member, pending final determination of those charges.

[Effective January 1, 2015, if the provisions of Senate Joint Resolution No. 14 (2011) are approved and ratified by the voters at the 2014 General Election.] Any person convicted of the murder or voluntary manslaughter of a member of the System is ineligible to receive any benefit conferred by any provision of this chapter or NRS 2.060 to 2.083, inclusive, 2A.100 to 2A150, inclusive, or 3.090 to 3.099, inclusive, by reason of the death of that member. The System may withhold the payment of any benefit otherwise payable under this chapter by reason of the death of any member of the System from any person charged with the murder or voluntary manslaughter of that member, pending final determination of those charges.
