1503. Offices of jailer and sheriff vacant; appointment by county commissioners
If the office of jailer becomes vacant while the office of sheriff is vacant, the county commissioners may appoint a jailer, who shall give bond as a sheriff is required to do and continue in office, if the appointment is confirmed at the commissioners' next meeting, during the vacancy in the office of sheriff or until a new jailer is appointed.
