§1161.4. Public Service Commission districts

A. The state shall be divided into the following five Public Service Commission districts and one commissioner shall be elected from each district:

(4) District No. 4 is composed of Acadia Parish; Allen Parish; Avoyelles Parish; Beauregard Parish; Calcasieu Parish; Cameron Parish; Precincts 3-2, 4-4, 5-1, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, 6-5, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 8-1, 8-2, 9-1, 9-2, 9-3, and 9-4 of Catahoula Parish; Evangeline Parish; Grant Parish; Jefferson Davis Parish; LaSalle Parish; Pointe Coupee Parish; Rapides Parish; St. Landry Parish; Precincts 1-1, 1-3, 1-4, 1-6, 1-7, 2-1 & 2-3, 2-2, 2-4, 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6, 3-7, 3-8, 3-9, 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, 4-4, 4-5, 4-6, 5-1, 5-2, 5-3 & 5-4, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4, 8-1, 8-2, 8-3, 8-4, 9-1, 9-2, 9-3, 9-4, and 9-5 of St. Martin Parish; Vermilion Parish; and Vernon Parish.

(5) District No. 5 is composed of Bienville Parish; Bossier Parish; Caddo Parish; Caldwell Parish; Precincts 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 3-1, 4-1, and 4-2 of Catahoula Parish; Claiborne Parish; Concordia Parish; DeSoto Parish; East Carroll Parish; Franklin Parish; Jackson Parish; Lincoln Parish; Madison Parish; Morehouse Parish; Natchitoches Parish; Ouachita Parish; Red River Parish; Richland Parish; Sabine Parish; Tensas Parish; Union Parish; Webster Parish; West Carroll Parish; and Winn Parish.

B. Each commissioner in office on the effective date of this Section* shall be the commissioner for the district having the same designation as the district from which the commissioner was elected and shall complete the term for which he was elected.

C. The successors of the commissioners in office on the effective date of this Section* shall be elected from the following districts at the congressional elections in the year designated and every six years thereafter:

(1) The first district in 2002.

(2) The second district in 2006.

(3) The third district in 2004.

(4) The fourth district in 2004.

(5) The fifth district in 2002.
