(1) (2) (3) (4) There is hereby established in the State Treasury a special fund to be known as the fire prevention and public safety fund. The fund shall consist of all moneys recovered as penalties under KRS 227.778 and moneys collected for fees pursuant to KRS 227.715. Notwithstanding KRS 45.229, fund amounts not expended at the close of the fiscal year shall not lapse but shall be carried forward to the next fiscal year. Any interest earnings of the fund shall become a part of the fund and shall not lapse. The moneys shall be deposited to the credit of the fund and shall, in addition to any other moneys made available for such purpose, be made available to the state fire marshal to administer this section, KRS 227.700 to 227.750 and 227.752 and to support fire safety and prevention programs.
