(1) (2) At the regular November election during the first even-numbered year nearest to the time of the merger of the districts, as above set out, two (2) members of the county board of education shall be elected from the county at large for a term of four (4) years, and two (2) years after such first election, three (3) members of the county board of education shall be elected for a term of four (4) years, and in each even-numbered year thereafter an election shall be held from the county at large to fill the membership of the county board of education for the term that will expire on the first Monday in January following, and the regularly elected members shall hold office for four (4) years, and until their successors are elected and qualified. Any vacancy occurring in the membership of the county board after members have been elected from the county at large shall be filled as now provided by KRS 160.190.
