Download as PDF 158.010 Uniform school system to be maintained -- Variations. (1) (2) A uniform system of common schools shall be maintained in Kentucky. Local school districts may, with approval of local boards of education, provide special programs and services to one (1) or more areas of the district in contrast to other areas where the variation is a reasonable one based on an attempt to equalize the education progress of the students within the district. Legislative Research Commission Note. 1988 Acts, chapter 172, sec. 1, provides that each public elementary and secondary school classroom in the Commonwealth of Kentucky prominently display a copy of the Bill of Rights, embodying the individual liberties safeguarded in the Constitution of the United States.
