431.017 Appearance bond of prosecuting witness. A judge, trial commissioner, or other officer issuing an arrest warrant based upon the testimony or allegations of a prosecuting witness may require the witness to post a bond in favor of the Commonwealth to secure the attendance of that witness in court in all matters relating to that particular arrest warrant. The amount of the bond shall be twentyfive dollars (). In the event that the prosecuting witness fails to appear and does not present valid reason therefor, the trial court shall order the forfeiture of the bond. This section shall not apply to any appeal or postconviction proceeding. Effective: July 15, 1982 History: Created 1982 Ky. Acts ch. 225, sec. 1, effective July 15, 1982.
