346.190 Reciprocal agreements with other states -- Provisions -- Effect. (1) (2) (3) (4) The board is empowered to enter into reciprocal agreements with all other states which have established, maintained and funded a state sponsored program for the compensation of crime victims. The reciprocal agreement shall provide that any Kentucky resident who is a crime victim in the reciprocal state will be entitled to the same benefits and will be subject to the same rules and regulations governing the claim of a resident of the reciprocal state. Any resident of a reciprocal state who was a crime victim in Kentucky may file a claim with the Kentucky Crime Victims' Compensation Board and will be entitled to the same benefits and will be subject to the same rules and regulations governing the claim of a Kentucky resident. The agreement, entered by and between Kentucky and any reciprocal state, may provide for the cooperation and assistance of investigators in each state in determining the eligibility of a claimant for an award and the amount of the award. The agreement may also provide that if a resident of a reciprocal state has been awarded benefits in Kentucky or a Kentucky resident has been awarded benefits in a reciprocal state, such claimant will not be entitled to an award in his resident state.
