217B.515 Structural pest control licenses.
Every person shall secure a license from the department before engaging in structural pest
control in Kentucky. Structural pest control is divided into the following categories and a
separate examination and license is required to operate in each category.
(1) (a) Commercial structural pest control shall include all structural pest control
including wood destroying organisms and general pests in and immediately
adjacent to commercial, industrial and residential establishments.
(b) Any person holding only a termite or a general pest control license or a
fumigation license on June 17, 1978, may continue to operate in that category.
Such person may take the commercial structural pest control license
examination without jeopardizing his current license. Should the license of
said license holder lapse or be revoked for any reason such person in order to
be licensed again shall be required to fulfill the requirements of KRS
217B.515 to 217B.545.
(2) Commercial structural fumigation shall include applicators using poison gases for
control of pests in enclosed spaces including but not restricted to structures such as
box cars, warehouses, ships, barges, homes, garages and granaries.
(3) Any additional category the department shall designate on recommendation of the
board.
