96.110 Fourth, fifth and sixth-class cities may subscribe for stock in water companies. Any city of the fourth, fifth or sixth class may, with funds provided from the general levy or from the sale of bonds, purchase stock in any corporation owning or operating or organized for the purpose of owning or operating a waterworks within the corporate limits of the city.
