67.870 Employment on basis of political activity prohibited. (1) (2) (3) (4) No person shall be appointed to any position in a charter county government because of political, partisan service rendered by him or his family, or because of political sentiment or affiliation nor shall any person be dismissed, suspended, or reduced in grade or pay because of any political opinion. The appointment and continuance of employment of all persons in a charter county government shall depend solely upon their ability and willingness to perform their duties, and shall not be a reward for political activity or contribution to campaign funds. No employee of a charter county government shall be forced to pay or collect any assessments made by political organizations, contribute to political campaign funds, or be active in politics. While on duty, no employee of a charter county government shall be active in politics or work for the election of candidates. Effective: July 13, 1990 History: Created 1990 Ky.
