67.170 Jailer to have custody of personal property belonging to jail and any other county property for which he is superintendent. The jailer of each county shall take charge of and carefully preserve all furniture, bedding and similar property belonging to the jail and any other county property at the county seat for which he may act as superintendent. The jailer shall be liable to the county upon his official bond for the value of any such property lost or destroyed by reason of his negligence or fault, and the county may enforce this liability by notice and motion in the District Court.
