26-183. National guard relief fund

A. The national guard relief fund is established consisting of monies received pursuant to section 43-619.

B. The adjutant general shall administer the fund. On notice from the adjutant general, the state treasurer shall invest and divest monies in the fund as provided by section 35-313, and monies earned from investments shall be credited to the fund. Monies in the fund:

1. Are exempt from the provisions of section 35-190 relating to lapsing of appropriations.

2. Are continuously appropriated to the department for the purposes prescribed in subsection C of this section.

C. The national guard shall use the monies in the fund to provide financial assistance to families of Arizona national guard members when the national guard member is mobilized in support of a contingency operation or state emergency.
