MEMORANDUM DECISION

Case No. 20010030-CA

F I L E D
January 31, 2002 2002 UT App 19 -----

First District Juvenile, Brigham City Department
The Honorable Larry E. Jones

Attorneys:
Justin C. Bond, Brigham City, for Appellant
Mark L. Shurtleff and Kris C. Leonard, Salt Lake City, for Appellee -----

Before Judges Billings, Davis, and Thorne.

THORNE, Judge:

This court "is entitled to have the issues clearly defined with pertinent authority cited and is not simply a depository in which the appealing party may dump the burden of argument and research." State v. Bishop, 753 P.2d 439, 450 (Utah 1988) (citation omitted). Moreover, in any challenge to the sufficiency of the evidence, an appellant bears the burden of marshaling the evidence in support of the challenged finding. See State v. Gamblin, 2000 UT 44,¶17 n.2, 1 P.3d 1108. Failure to so marshal will result in our refusal to address an appellant's sufficiency claim. See State v. Hopkins, 1999 UT 98, ¶16, 989 P.2d 1065.

In the instant case, appellant fails to cite even one case in support of either of his two relatively short arguments. Moreover, appellant also fails to marshal the evidence underlying the finding that he challenges. We decline appellant's invitation to argue his case for him, and instead, affirm the ruling of the juvenile court.
